West Chester’s Tree of Knowledge

I think this was done very well, and makes a point without being insulting. Her point about the winter season not being solely reserved for Christmas was well made. Also, I used to live in West Chester, and it is a very conservative community.

I do want separation of church and state, so I would encourage every religion and nutbag to seek a public display of their ideas in December. That said, it is confrontational to put an antireligious statement up during a religious holiday. I am not decided as to the timing of these statements…it asserts our voice but it undermines any goodwill we may seek to build with the 80 percent of the population that claims Christianity and may tend to view us as Scrooges. I love Christmas, I just think Mary was a slut.
